A number of resources have been developed as part of the MONOCLE project, these include videos and documents that both explain the concepts around water quality monitoring and also guide users to capture data themselves in the correct way.
The MONOCLE factsheet series provides information and guidance on important aspects of the project. All three of the factsheets are available to download below:
Download the Drones factsheet (PDF - 1.6MB) - Find out how Drones can assist with water quality measurements and how to fly the correct camera to collect the best observations.
Download the Citizen science factsheet (PDF - 1.5MB) - This factsheet explains what citizen science is and how it benefits society. It also details the initiatives that MONOCLE is supporting.
Download the Reflectance: Water colour factsheet (PDF - 3MB) Explore the how, where, when and why we measure reflectance and how MONOCLE has developed sensors to support measurements.
MONOCLE/Water-ForCE training package: Introduction to Remote Sensing of Water Quality in Lakes.
This short course was developed in the H2020 Water-ForCE and MONOCLE projects to provide an introduction to remote sensing of water quality for limnologists and was provided through two workshops with GLEON and at TAFIRI. The course consists of three short lectures (videos linked here) with demonstration of data analysis using SNAP with Sentinel toolboxes (https://step.esa.int/main/download/snap-download/). A complementary data package (6Gb) is available on request by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The materials are provided under CC-BY-NC-ND 4.0 license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/).
